Audrey's Children: Release date news, cast details and more about the upcoming biopic starring Natalie Dormer

Game Of Thrones star, Natalie Dormer, will soon be back to the big screens with her much-anticipated upcoming biopic, Audrey's Children. The film will revisit the journey of Dr. Audrey Elizabeth Evans, a renowned pediatric oncologist, and her contributions to the healthcare system that resonates through millions of lives to date.

Dormer will portray Audrey Evans and her co-star, Clancy Brown, will play Dr. C. Everett Koop (another well-known pediatric surgeon whose research added a lot of value to the medical sector back in the 70s). Ami Canaan Mann will direct the project, and Julia Fisher Farbman to pen the script.

Audrey's Children will have a limited theatrical premiere in March 2025 and following the official announcement of its release, excitement is peaking as speculations around a dramatic biopic build-up. The official synopsis of Audrey's Children, per IMDb, reads:

"1969. Dr. Audrey Evans joins world-renowned children's hospital and battles sexism, medical conventions, and the subterfuge of her peers to develop revolutionary treatments and purchase the first Ronald McDonald House, impacting millions."

When will Audrey's Children be released?

Audrey's Children will hit select theatres in the United States on March 28, 2025, the same day as Jason Statham's highly-anticipated action thriller, A Working Man's release. The movie was initially set for a 2023 release and filming took place back in 2022.

However, the schedule was altered owing to reasons that are yet unspecified. As per the reports, Audrey's Children will also have a digital release through VOD services, as the trend follows.


What do we know about the story of Audrey's Children?

Audrey's Children centers on well-known pediatric oncologist, Dr. Audrey Evans, and her chronicles through the unstable medical system of the 70s. Audrey was the co-founder of the Ronald McDonald House Charities and her contribution to the 70s healthcare system is incomparable.

She faced a lot of challenges while doing her research on Neuroblastoma (which is a fatal nerve cancer strain that mostly affects small children) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Not only did she study the deadly form of cancer but also came up with treatments for this life-taking disease whose mortality rate at that time was close to 70%.

The film will leave glimpses of Audrey's unconventional and progressive approach that brought good results, despite her confrontations with the medical authorities. However, the methods she mastered helped millions of ill children and their families over the years. Dr. Audrey Evans was known for her irrevocable determination, vast knowledge of medical science, and patient-centric approach.


Who is in the cast of Audrey's Children?

Director, Ami Canaan Mann, will feature an ensemble cast for Audrey's Children led by Natalie Dormer playing the titular role. Alongside her, we have Lex Luthor's voice actor, Clancy Brown, cast as Dr. C. Everett Koop.

Brown's contribution to the industry is immeasurable owing to hits like The Shawshank Redemption, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Bride, Dexter: New Blood, and John Wick: Chapter 4. Sitcom and comedy-drama icon, Brandon Michael Hall, will be playing Dr Brian Faust.

Primetime Emmy-winning star, Jimmi Simpson, will be seen portraying Dr. Dan D’Angio. Evelyn Giovine will play the part of a woman named Kate Watson. Though the names of all the roles have been specified, it is yet to be revealed how these characters fit in the story of Dr. Audrey Elizabeth Evans.
