However, the cameras reportedly did not pan on Steinfeld as much as they hounded Swift. Few netizens even begged CBS to give Stanfield as much “camera time” as Swift.

Fans speculated if the megastars would interact with each other during the game, given their long history of friendship. Steinfeld and Swift's bond dates back to 2013, and they have been friends since then.

The duo might support opposing teams but it has not affected their friendship. They might be spotted sitting separately during the NFL games, cheering for their respective teams but the singers have made public appearances together at various events before.

2013

According to the Democrat & Chronicle, Hailee Steinfeld and Taylor Swift first met in January 2013 through their mutual friend, Emma Stone, Steinfeld told E!News.

During the interview, Steinfeld said, “We do just really random stuff when we are together. We just love to kick back, listen to music, watch TV, bake, watch movies and all of that kind of stuff.”

The two shared Instagram photos baking Christmas cookies and making Christmas cards.

Speaking to People magazine in the same year, she revealed that she considers Swift like her elder sister. In September 2013, Swift attended the premiere of Steinfeld's film Romeo and Juliet, which further solidified their bond.

"We have been talking about her coming to this forever," Steinfeld said during the premiere. "I called her. She literally had just finished her tour. The fact she came out tonight means so much. I am so excited."

In July 2015, Hailee accompanied Swift during the 1989 World Tour as she joined the Bad Blood “Squad” on-stage. Sharing her experience with Vogue, she said:
