Sylvester Stallone's international espionage thriller, Alarum, sees a lot of spies in there with the Rambo fame playing Agent Chester who is tasked to kill this couple who are suspected of joining a network of rogue spies trying the take down the national intelligence network in the film.
Interestingly there's a flash drive that holds details capable of compromising national intelligence agency operations. This drive is central to the plot and lets Joe Travers close in first, who retrieves it from so not-so-jolly way.
The film had lots of guns and action but that's all. It is the flash drive that creators have put in as a MacGuffin that keeps everyone on their toes. Maybe there will be a sequel and we will get to know about the contents of the flash drive.

Laura, Joe, and Chester are now part of the mysterious Alarum
A lot of chaos ensues and bullets are sprinkling over like anything after Jeo has taken in the drive. All in all, Joe Travers (Scott Eastwood), Laura Travers (Willa Fitzgerald), and Chester (Sylvester Stallone) are together with the flash drive in their possession. They are now a part of the mysterious organization consisting of rogue spies, Alarum.
Still, there's not a clue of any data in it, but the network of rogue spies intends to take down the global intelligence network, which is something that tells us there could be something that these official agencies would not want to get out.
This is also the reason Orlin (Mike Colter) goes after them, as does Chester but the latter joins the couple and the former ends up dead while trying to retrieve the flash drive. Now that he is out of the game, maybe another agent could end up taking up the mission before Alarum can use the drive.
Now the flash drive is the director's only savior for a sequel
Now there are a couple of things to take into consideration; one is story-wise and the other is success-wise. For the former, Alarum has very well set up the foundation for future actions. We may even end up with some big guys with a guns-blazing attitude, much like the band of heroes we have witnessed in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables franchise.
In one interview with Critix, Michael Polish hinted at a potential sequel but he didn't give in much detail. Instead, his motivation to do that comes from the bonding between Scott Eastwood and Sylvester Stallone. He also believes that this is likely the reason the fans would want to see more.
However, that isn't the case when ratings of critics and fans alike are concerned. The flash drive is the only thing that could make things interesting for an Alarum sequel. Michael appears high on making another sequel but the problem could arise if fans reject the idea of giving it a shot after what they witnessed.
