Justin Baldoni has produced the film along with Charlie McSpadden, Renee Witt, and Andrew Calof, while Mindy Kaling is serving as an executive producer.

A Nice Indian Boy is an adaptation of Madhuri Shekar's play. The story is about Naveen, an Indian guy, who falls in love with Jay. He makes his family meet Jay and tries to convince them about his relationship. The family has to also be content with all of this and have the two tie the knot in an Indian wedding.

Karan Soni is playing the role of Naveen Gavaskar in the film. He is known for portraying Dopinder in the Deadpool franchise and has also done films like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Safety Not Guaranteed. Jonathan Gruff, who is known for his work in Mindhunter and Frozen, is playing Jay Kurundkar.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Roshan Sethi revealed that he could relate to the script. He said,
"The reason I took it on is because I'm gay and Indian, and I'm real life partners with Karan; we're life and romantic partners, so it was a great way for us to tell a story that meant a lot to us personally, but was also fun and entertaining."
In the same interview, Karan Soni also spoke about playing the character. He said,
"It was actually harder to play almost the straight character, for lack of a better word, because I like playing the louder and crazier character. But what was hard about this was that a lot of it is playing in just quiet moments, because he's not expressing a lot until the end, where he literally expresses through dance."
A Nice Indian Boy is releasing on April 4, 2025.
