After the movie finishes and the stinger begins, it reveals its secret character. We witness a woman talking to Jack Black's character, Steve, in the scene. The character is none other than Alex.

A Minecraft Movie was released on 4th April 2025. Directed by Jared Hess, the film is based on the iconic video game Minecraft. Set in a magical, cubic dreamland, a team of four has been lost inside and now is compelled to use their utmost imaginative skills to find their way out of that world.

Along with Jack Black, the film also has Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, Sebastian Hansen, Jennifer Coolidge, and many others in the cast.

In the end-credits scene of A Minecraft Movie, a secret character pop-up is revealed.

Towards the end, the primary characters of the film beat the diabolical Malgosha. In the end-credits scene, we witness Steve coming back to earth. As he comes to his homeworld, he comes to the house where he used to live. Since a long passage of time has passed ever since he has not been living in the human world, he discovers that somebody else purchased his house.

Steve knocks at the door of his house, and a woman answers to the door. The woman is called Alex. She is seen wearing an attire in green and wears red coloured hair. Her face is not visible in the scene throughout. She tells Steve in the scene:

“Hey do you want to come in, I’m Alex by the way”

When Steve inquires about one of his prized belongings, that is, his chest, Alex replies to him by saying that it is in the loft space.

The name Alex and her iconography in the film must have rung a bell for all the Minecrafters out there. For those who do not know, Alex is a chief character in the video game, together with Steve.

According to reports, actor Kate McKinnon has lent her voice for the role of Alex in A Minecraft Movie. Information about her part in the film has not been disclosed by the makers yet. Alice May Connolly, the body double of Kate McKinnon, has been attributed to the role of Alex.

In an interview with IGN, helmer Jared Hess and producer of the film Torfi Frans Ólafsson when asked about who is actually voicing for the role of Alex in the film, stated:

"Full of mysteries, but definitely excited. That character, that's a whole other fun chapter we'd be excited about."

The addition of this interesting end-credits scene with Alex may potentially build up to a larger narrative in any subsequent developments in A Minecraft Movie. Also, the ambiguity and enigma that they are keeping behind the cast of Alex might be hinting to the fact that there might be something big that they could be cooking up.
