American actress Chyler Leigh is still remembered for her role as Dr. Lexie Grey in Shondaland’s longest-running show, Grey’s Anatomy. But that’s not all, she has played several other prominent characters. Her filmography includes other diverse roles: from a detective, a doctor, to an exceptional scientist.

7) That ’80s Show

In this American sitcom, Chyler Leigh appeared as the Libert Spikes-donning, punk rock musician named June Tuesday. The show focused on Glenn Howerton's character, Corey Howard, and his life as a struggling musician in 1980s San Diego.

He worked with (Leigh’s) June in a record store, Paramount Records, and they ended up developing a romantic relationship. The show further focused on their professional relationship. Other than this, the show also gives glimpses of the lifestyle and music of the 1980s.


6) Taxi Brooklyn

In Taxi Brooklyn, Chyler Leigh introduced us to Detective Caitlin Mary Darcy ‘Cat’ Sullivan, the unconventional and tomboyish character. As her driving privileges get suspended, Leigh’s character, Cat, is driven around Brooklyn by a French cab driver, Leo Romba (Jacky Ido), and they catch bad guys around the city.

Based on Luc Besson’s film, Taxi, the series is a procedural comedy and shows us a different side of Chyler Leigh that we got to see after her sensitive and kind-hearted role in Grey’s Anatomy.

The Practice revolves around the lives of the employees and associates connected to the law firm, Robert Donnell and Associates. They solve cases while also trying to save the firm, and face a constant battle between the legal ethics and their personal morality.

Chyler Leigh joined the Emmy-winning legal drama as a main cast member, Claire Wyatt, a thoughtful and passionate woman. She joins as Kelli Williams’s character Lindsay Dole’s new associate at her new practice. Leigh was not the only Grey’s Anatomy member who appeared in the show as Jessica Capshaw, and even Patrick Dempsey has also been a part of The Practice.


4) Not Another Teen Movie

In the 2001 parody movie about stereotypical teenage characters, Not Another Teen Movie, Chyler Leigh played the clichéd character of the Pretty Ugly girl with glasses and ponytail, Janey Briggs. The film also stars Chris Evans as the popular Jock named, Jake Wyler.

The parody film uses the common teenage trope of the 1990s where a popular Jock falls in love with the nerdy girl after a series of events that brings them closer. This role went on to become one of Leigh’s known characters.


3) The Way Home

Chyler Leigh’s most recent roles include Hallmark’s fantasy series, The Way Home. She plays Kat Landry Dhawan, who moves back to her hometown after losing her job and a broken marriage. She meets her mother, Del Watson Landry (Andie MacDowell), after almost 20 years, and with her teenage daughter, Alice, her mother and herself discover fascinating secrets about the past of the Landry women.

As Alice discovers that she can time travel by going into the pond on the Landry farm, and befriends her mother when she was a teenager by time traveling into the past. As the three generations of Landry women learn new things about their family, they also reflect upon the present and how the past has played an important role in shaping their present.


2) Grey’s Anatomy

In Grey’s Anatomy, Chyler Leigh played the beloved character of Lexie Grey, Meredith’s half-sister, who was eager to form a relationship with her when she joined the hospital. She became a part of Meredith’s life, and her romance with Eric Dane’s Mark Sloan, also called McSteamy, was one of the popular storylines.

Lexie grew up in a loving home, in contrast to Meredith’s troubled upbringing. Despite that, the two became close in the series, and Meredith, who initially did not acknowledge Lexie as her sister, came around to accept her as her family.


1) Supergirl

Supergirl was one of the superhit shows that Chyler Leigh was a part of. She plays Alex Danvers/Sentinel in the superhero series. Although initially envious of her adoptive sister, Kara's powers, she grows into a protective older sister to Supergirl.

Alex was a scientist and a human superhero, due to her intelligence, and she also displayed some exceptional physical strength. As a field agent of DEO, Alex worked to protect the Earth from otherworldly threats that try to destroy the planet and harm the lives residing on it. She also reprised her role in many other Arrowverse series.
