English actress Camilla Luddington won hearts with her role as the quirky Dr. Jo Wilson and Alex’s love interest, with a secret that made her character realistic as she portrayed the vulnerability her character felt perfectly. Grey’s Anatomy isn’t the only big project in her filmography, as she also appeared in many popular TV shows and movies, and has also lent her voice to video game characters.

The stop-motion animated sketch comedy show showcases various comedy sketches in 15-minute episodes. Robot Chicken satirizes numerous current events and pop culture topics and also features many celebrities such as Mark Hamill and Scarlett Johansson.

In the season 10 episode titled Garfield Stockman in: A Voice Like Wet Ham Luddington voiced the character of Agent Marshall and Nadia. She was joined by Kat Graham, Whitney Loveall, and Tom Root. In the episode, Freddie Krueger is about to get married, but is going through a dilemma and wants to find out who his father is. Kruger is voiced by show creator Seth Green.

The Healer tells the story of Alec Bailey, who receives a gift of healing after he shifts to Nova Scotia, Canada. He was an electrical engineer and had a TV repair business called The Healer. Due to numerous debts and a failing business, he takes up his Uncle’s offer and goes to Canada.

He meets Camilla Luddington’s Cecilia, a vet, who helps him settle down in the new place and also places an ad for his business. However, people of the town misinterpret and come to him so that he can heal them. Frustrated by this, he later finds out he does have healing powers. Luddington’s character, Cecilia, becomes a great help for Alec as he struggles with this strange new change in his life and also befriends a young girl named Abigail, for whom Alec accepts the healing gift.


5) True Blood

In the popular fantasy series of HBO, Camilla Luddington played the character of Claudette, a telepathic faerie and one of the seventeen sisters and a brother named Claude, under the fairy queen Mab.

In True Blood, Claude, Luddington’s Claudette, and some of her other sisters help Sookie in finding out how and why her parents were killed by the vampire by taking her to the bridge where they had died. Her character debuted in episode 6 of season 5 and died in the massacre caused by the faerie-vampire hybrid, Macklyn Warlow.


4) Justice League Dark

With this film, Camilla Luddington entered her superhero era as she lent her voice to the character of Zatanna, a sorceress in the animated film. As the residents of the city begin to commit crimes under the influence of magic, Batman takes help from Zatanna, to help him out in finding Constantine and get rid of the problem that has disrupted the peace of the city.

After Justice League Dark, Luddington reprised the character in a short film called Constantine: The House of Mystery.


3) Californication

David Duchovny’s Hank Moody is a troubled novelist who goes to California to deal with his writer’s block. He has a complicated relationship with his daughter and his partner due to his reckless and debaucherous lifestyle.

Luddington plays the character of Lizzie, nanny to Marcy and Charlie’s ( Hank’s agent and friend) son, and also begins a casual relationship with him. Her character was introduced in season 5 of the series.


2) Justice League Dark: Apokolips War

In this DC animated film, the Justice League and the Teen Titans come together to try to defeat Darkseid. They seek John Constantine, who still blames himself for leaving his wife Zatanna alone to die to save himself. However, in the afterlife, when he meets her again, she tells him that she had manipulated his mind to run away to save his life as planned by Batman and herself, and that he should not blame himself for it.

Luddington reprised her role as Zatanna in this critically acclaimed movie as well.


1) Grey’s Anatomy

Camilla Luddington joined Grey’s Anatomy in season 9 and quickly became a fan favorite. While her storyline with Alex was loved by fans, Jo Wilson’s other prominent story was of her being a domestic abuse survivor. For several episodes, Jo hides her truth, but it is later revealed, and she also receives support from her colleagues and friends in the hospital.

Her story with Alex also goes through lots of challenges before he leaves her and goes back to Izzie, leaving a heartbroken Jo. In the later season, she adopts Luna with the help of her friend, Link.

To this date, Luddington’s most popular role is Jo Wilson, other than DC’s Zatanna.
