Netflix's freshest rom-com release, The Life List, has been out for streaming since 28th March, 2025.

Derived from Lori Nelson Spielman's novel The Life List, this film is helmed by Adam Brooks. The film stars Sofia Carson, Kyle Allen, Connie Britton, Sebastian De Souza, and many others.

It follows the plot of Alex, who is set to fulfill her mother's wish, where she asks Alex to complete all of her bucket list wishes that she made as a child. After Alex's mother passes away, she encounters several compelling experiences in life as she takes a step ahead to tick all the bucket list wishes.

Its plotline, as per IMDb, goes by:

A woman revisits her childhood aspirations, endeavoring to achieve her old goals, only to discover that pursuing these lifelong dreams takes her on an unforeseen and surprising journey.

The film showcases the journey of Zach and how gloriously he has spent his last days, making music and spreading happiness around him. Like The Life List, this film too is a brave journey of an individual in pursuit of happiness, hope, and love.

Helmed by Justin Baldoni, Clouds stars Fin Argus, Sabrina Carpenter, Madison Iseman, Lil Rel Howery, and many others.


2) Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)

The 2001 classic Bridget Jones's Diary must be added to this list!

In both Bridget Jones's Diary and The Life List, the stories are of a woman who is navigating her life, striving to make changes in her life, and has control over.

In The Life List, Alex had a bucket list from her younger days, and in Bridget Jones's Diary, the lead character, Bridget, has a diary where she writes down things she wants in her life and reflects upon her life.

In the due course of the film, Bridget navigates love with her experiences with two men in her life, Daniel and Mark. The film is directed by Sharon Maguire, and it stars Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth, and Hugh Grant.


3) Love, Rosie (2014)

Love, Rosie follows the plot of Rosie and Alex, who have been friends since childhood. They discover love in each other as they grow up and apart, with life throwing various trials and tribulations at them.

Helmed by Christian Ditter, it is a movie adaptation of Cecelia Ahern's novel Where Rainbows End.

It stars Lily Collins, Sam Claflin, Christian Cooke, Tamsin Egerton, and many others.


4) The Map of Tiny Perfect Things (2021)

This one is not just a rom-com, but interestingly, a sci-fi rom-com. This is yet another film starring Kyle Allen in this list, apart from The Life List.

The Map of Tiny Perfect Things follows the plot of a young couple who are frozen in a time wrap. Consequently, every day looks the same for them. However, the rest of the plot follows how they get out of this time wrap situation.

Directed by Ian Samuels, the film also stars Kathryn Newton, Josh Hamilton, Jermaine Harris, etc.


5) P.S. I Love You (2007)

And finally, the list shall be incomplete without the mention of this iconic 2007 film.

Featuring Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Lisa Kudrow, Harry Connick Jr., etc, P.S. I Love You follows the plot of Holly, who, after her husband Gerry's death, is trying to get in touch with life again after isolating herself.

Before his death, Gerry had recorded some tapes for her. As Holly finds them, it encourages like to live life again. Like The Life List, this film too focuses on themes related to loss, grief, love, and the act of regaining and rediscovering oneself.
