A film can be more than what it seems; what appears to be a comedy may have some different theme to it, like Honeymoon Crasher. The film is about a guy who is left at the altar (no, he didn't say 'Rachel') and is later joined by his mother, who is basically the honeymoon crasher here.

It's a comedy movie (at least it tries to be) but it emphasizes more how this trip brings the mother-son duo closer. While she realizes about her helicopter parenting, her son realizes how much she has gone through, that too silently.

If you like this theme, then you definitely are going to love these films. Most of them aren't comic; in fact, they can be dark as hell. But one thing is at the core of them: that rekindling between parents and their children.

The Judge

Reason number one to watch The Judge? There's Robert Downey Jr. in it. Second? The film will tell the fans that no matter how badly a relationship between a father and a son is a mess, things can always get better. And of course, Robert Downey Jr. is sassy as always in there.

The transformation of Robert Duvall's Judge Palmer is worthwhile, as the film initially shows a visible coldness between him and his son, Hank Palmer (Downey), that eventually ends up with the judge praising him.
