16) Gun vs. Knife Fight in Raiders of the Lost Ark

The movie, Indiana Jones: Raider of the Lost Ark, has a scene that requires a fight sequence between a swordsman and Indiana Jones. Initially, the fight was supposed to be elaborate, with a lot of flashy moves and stunts but on the day of filming actor Harrison Ford who plays Indiana Jones was unwell. He couldn’t have performed the scripted stunts.

So, Harrison Ford suggested a slight input into the scene which elevated the quality of the entire movie. He suggested that while the swordsman exhibits his moves, Indiana Jones simply takes out his gun and shoots him.

This brilliant idea added humor to the movie and indeed is an example of an unscripted scene that proved to be better than the scripted one.
