The season finale episode, "The Reichenbach Fall," raises a lot of mystery since the charismatic great detective Sherlock Holmes falls victim to his arch-nemesis, Jim Moriarty, with a battle of wits that leaves the viewer pondering if he lives or dies when he finally jumped off the roof of St. Bartholomew's Hospital. The cliffhanger was particularly effective as many still wondered how Sherlock could survive that kind of fall.
