The actor decided to retire in 1999 after giving 40 years to Hollywood as he had plans to pursue a music career. But after his retirement, Pesci has starred in The Good Shepherd, Love Ranch, and The Irishman. For the last film, Scorsese reportedly requested Pesci over 50 times, the film also gave Pesci over 30 nominations including the Oscars, BAFTA, and more.
