Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker is widely appreciated. It was outstanding and earned him many awards. In one scene where Joker bombs the Gotham General Hospital, there was a slight delay in the explosion. Heath Ledger being the master actor that he is, stayed in character and started playing with the remote much in the frustrated way that Joker would. This made the scene so authentic that the directors loved it and added it to the movie.
