Why Would I Lie? is part of his early career, in which he plays Johnny Dresden, the smoothest conman around, using charm to manipulate people around him. Even though this is a lesser-known film, Macht glimpses his future on-screen persona: strong in personality, charismatic, and effortlessly likable. His ability to command the screen comes through even in this early role.
