Fruitvale Station recounts the tragic true story of Oscar Grant, played by Michael B. Jordan, who was shot fatally by police on New Year's Eve in 2009. Melodrama is avoided as Ryan Coogler goes about directing his first feature, fashioning a real, heartbreaking human story.
