The final transformation scene in The Substance is hard to watch. The character’s body starts to change—bones crack, skin stretches, and their face twists into something unnatural. Scientists try to stop it, but it’s too late. The lights flicker, alarms go off, and the lab turns into chaos. The transformation doesn’t happen all at once. It’s slow, painful, and looks like it hurts. The more the body changes, the less human it seems. By the end, what’s left is something out of a nightmare, and everyone in the room knows they’ve lost control. Then the screen cuts to black.
