MCU, or the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is one of the most expansive universes of comic book characters, which has been translated into films. While there are many honorable heroes, there are also some cruel villains. And sometimes, even the heroes are awkward. As Valentine’s Day approaches, it would be interesting to see who among them is unfit for a romantic connection. Here are 20 MCU characters who are not the best fit for a date on the day of love.

Known as the eternal deviant, Thanos, is one of the most powerful beings in the universe. This Marvel comics character is only interested in getting the infinity stones and has a twisted sense of saving the universe—by wiping out half the population. Taking him out on a Valentine’s Day date might be harmful as he might snap away half the restaurant staff mid-date.

2. Wanda Maximoff

Also known as the Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff, is an interesting Marvel comics character. While she is intelligent, has combat skills, and is gifted with intellect, she often fails due to her own fear. Her inability to control her fear leads her to hurt people. If you take her out on a date and things go wrong, she could rewrite reality to make you the bad guy.

3. Loki

Also known as the God of Mischief, Loki, the brother of Thor, is highly naughty, cunning, and theatrical. The Marvel character is known for his scheming ways and his ability to manipulate and create illusions. If one takes him out on a Valentine’s Day date, he would most probably shape-shift into you just to ditch the bill.

4. Venom

This Marvel character is known for his superhuman strength, speed, and agility. He also has a high sensory awareness and is sadistic. Borderline sociopathic, it might be dangerous to go out with him on a Valentine’s Day date, as he might bond, quite literally, with you. Plus, he would be more interested in eating the waiter than sharing a meal with you.

5. Green Goblin

Also known as Norman Osborn, this Marvel character is violent, sadistic, and aggressive and fuels himself with his lust for power. He is spiteful and arrogant and is not the best character to take on a Valentine’s Day date. He loves to cause chaos and might throw a pumpkin bomb instead of paying for dinner.

6. Korg

This Marvel character is friendly, loves to crack jokes, and is scared of ghosts. Despite his superhuman strength, this Kronan is awkward and not good with romance. Taking him out on a Valentine’s Day date is a lost cause, and he would not read the signs and probably bring his best friend, Miek, along.

7. Tony Stark

Also known as Iron Man, this Marvel comic character is charming and a lady's man. He is always absorbed in upgrading his technology and playing around with gadgets and gizmos. As Iron Man, he might be a protector of the innocent, but he would be a dull date on Valentine’s Day as he might spend the whole date talking to J.A.R.V.I.S. or caught up in his eccentricities.

8. Doctor Strange

This Marvel character was initially arrogant. But after becoming a master of the mystic arts, he became intuitive and assertive. Even though he is lovable, Rocket Raccoon, from the Marvel comics, is aggressive and does not treat people well. He is wisecracking, intelligent, and has acute senses, but he is only interested in his technology and gadgets. Taking him out on a Valentine’s Day date might be useless as he would only be interested in stealing silverware or building a bomb.

10. Groot

Apart from his unique looks, this Marvel character is friendly, loyal, and strong. He might seem fragile but he has superhuman strength and is devoted to the Guardians of the Galaxy. Plus, he can transform from a gentle being to a strong opponent if he needs to fight against any evil. But he seems to be inept at romance as he has limited conversation options.

11. Thor

Thor might be a man of honor and a gifted warrior, but he is often brutish, short-sighted, and arrogant. The son of Odin, this Asgardian from the Marvel comics is only interested in saving the world and keeping an eye out for his brother, Loki, who might cause mischief at any moment. Taking him out on a date is not the best idea as you are but a mere mortal in his eyes!

12. Nick Fury

This Marvel character is a skilled leader and a gifted soldier. He is tactical, an expert on personal firearms, and calm and collected most of the time. But he can get angry if his subordinates don’t operate under his command. Taking him out on a Valentine’s Day date might not be the best idea, as this character does not open up and maintains an icy exterior.

One of the most physically strong characters from the Marvel comics. The Hulk is known for his superhuman strength, speed, durability, and ability to transform himself. This Marvel character might be known for his stamina, speed, strength, and skilled combat skills, but he is also known for being dimwitted. 15. Red Skull

One of the most cruel villains in the Marvel comics, he is a definite no for a Valentine’s Day outing. Red Skull only seeks power and dominance and considers everyone else inferior. He is, therefore, arrogant and egocentric. Even though he has superhuman strength, can run at high speeds, and is highly intelligent, he uses all his gifts for destruction. Therefore, this character is not romantic.

16. Ultron

Apart from being a program rather than an actual person, Ultron is also unlikeable for various other reasons. This Marvel character might have knowledge of everything, but he is equally delusional and wants to wipe out all humanity for peace.

MODOK is an acronym for Mental Mobile Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing. Therefore, as his name suggests, this character from the Marvel comics, with a giant floating head, is only interested in killing others. Taking him out on a Valentine’s Day date might do more harm than good.

Known as the famous Spider-Man, this Marvel character is sweet and shy. However, once he turns into his superhuman avatar, he becomes highly skilled, agile, and adaptable. While he is a good guy all around and might even charm you with his awkwardness and compassion, he would most probably leave you to swing off mid-date to fight crime, even on Valentine’s Day.

20. Yondu

Known as Yondu Udonta, this Marvel character is a natural mystic and a space pirate. Hence, he is a skilled thief and a brawler. He has no qualms about threatening anybody if he needs to steal anything. He is known for using a bow with Yaka arrows that move when he whistles. Therefore, taking him out on Valentine’s Day is highly volatile as he might whistle to his arrow and accidentally end the date in tragedy.
