11) Bill Cosby Sexual Assault Convictions (2018)
Over 60 women accused Bill Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting them across several decades. Andrea Constand, a Temple University employee, accused him of assaulting her at his home in 2004. The first trial in 2017 ended in a mistrial after a jury deadlock. In 2018, a retrial convicted Cosby of aggravated indecent assault, making him the first major celebrity convicted in the #MeToo era. He was sentenced to three to ten years in prison. His conviction highlighted systemic issues of power and abuse in the entertainment industry.
