Apocalypse Now made $150 million (adjusted for inflation) and followed a U.S. Army captain on a dangerous mission in the Vietnam War. The story showed the descent into chaos as he searched for a rogue colonel deep in the jungle. Fans were drawn to its exploration of the psychological and moral cost of war.
