The British actor who portrayed the wise and good Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets left an unforgettable mark of his own on this film series. He died on October 25, 2002, at age 72. Michael Gambon took over from The Prisoner of Azkaban onwards.
