Downey Jr. was paid $10 million for about 8 minutes of screen time in Spider-Man: Homecoming, where he plays Tony Stark/Iron Man. His character mentors young Spider-Man and helps link him to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At one level, it was a hefty paycheck because Downey Jr. had become an enormous star by the success of the MCU.
