2) Alien (1979)
Ridley Scott's Alien returned to the theatres with 40 years of nerve-wracking tension, better visuals, and Dolby sound. Watching the film where Ellen Ripley faced the Xenomorph in a darkened cinema gave an exhilarating sense of suspense, all over again. Documentaries accompanying the screening included some rarely known information about the groundbreaking creature design of H.R. Giger. The re-release made sure to strengthen the position of the film as a masterpiece in sci-fi horror, one that still sends fear down people's spines and inspires filmmakers.
