Persepolis tells the story of the life of Marjane Satrapi. During Marjane’s childhood, she witnessed social changes as Islamic fundamentalism spread. She also witnesses the impact of the revolution along with facing restrictions on her freedom. As her parents send her to Europe to study she faces identity issues and grapples with the struggle to adapt to her new life.
