The pathbreaking paranormal show was a global hit, and Anderson's portrayal as Scully, an FBI special agent and MD who was into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), had an impact. It triggered off The Scully Effect, inspiring many women of the generation to take up roles in these challenging fields.
