Jean-Claude Van Damme was the intended star as the eponymous alien in Predator; he quit filming as producers allegedly argued with him to retain the infamous costume. However, one should know, that the initial costume design for the movie wasn't all that great. Van Damme, a trained kickboxer struggled throughout shooting because of how unyielding the costume was. Ultimately, Kevin Peter Hall stepped into the costume which became the first version of the alien called Predator. Later on, Jean-Claude Van Damme would claim that his performance in this film was compromised due to its limitations but even before then, he transitioned to Bloodsport 1988.
