Zac Efron did an unsettling and captivating performance in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile as Ted Bundy. His appearance eerily resembled that of Bundy's youthful charm and good looks. With that look, Efron portrayed the manipulative personality of the infamous serial killer. His portrayal was very chilling because he caught the ability of Bundy to be harmless and even charismatic while committing his crimes. This role marked a shift in Efron's career because he moved away from the heartthrob image, instead taking on darker, more complex characters, and winning much acclaim for his convincing performance.
