Directed by Woody Allen, The Purple Rose of Cairo is a romantic comedy starring Jeff Daniels, Mia Farrow, and others. The movie takes inspiration from several movies and revolves around a film character, Tom Baxter, who leaves the fictional world to enter the real world. Daniels’ performance as Baxter, however, did not receive a nomination.
