Gene Hackman used to work as a field radio operator in the United States Marine Corps. It is much later in life, around the age of 37 that he finally found success with the iconic movie, Bonnie and Clyde. He portrayed the role of Buck Barrow in the film and even got nominated for an Oscar. He even won an Oscar for Best Actor for the movie, The French Connection.
