Eva Mendes used to be a marketing major at California State University. She was on her way to becoming a marketing executive when fate decided to cross her path. One of her friends included Eva in his portfolio, and a talent manager recruited her from there. Thus began her career in modeling and commercials. A filmmaker saw one of the modeling campaigns and decided to recruit her in the film, Children of the Corn V, and thus began her career in acting.
