Despite the dark storytelling and intense performance, Cox seamlessly weaves in perfectly timed, natural humor that’s both subtle and memorable. It is more like situational wit, delivering laughs in a subtle but powerful way. Matt’s cheeky side really shines when he uses his blindness for comedic effect. Case in point: when Foggy discovers he’s Daredevil, Matt quips, “I can’t see!” His sarcastic exchanges with Foggy and Karen, or the time when he replied, “About seven hours” after being asked, “How long have you been practicing law?” remain some of the most iconic scenes in the series.
