Jenna was a grounding force in Alaric’s life. So when Jenna tragically died in season 2 it had a huge impact on Alaric. Their relationship though short was a poignant reminder of human connections that were so often threatened in Mystic Falls because of the supernatural. He is seen drinking in the bar after attending her funeral and laying a rose on her grave.
