In season 3 when Alaric becomes an enhanced Original vampire he stakes Klaus with the white oak stake. It is one of the best moments of Alaric as we see him driven by his desire to protect Elena and eliminate any kind of threat that may occur to her. The scene is also one of the most memorable scenes as the viewers witness Klaus’ death though transient it is impactful.
