For Phil, a holiday is a very important time. He is obsessed with Halloween and with Claire's help, always turns his house into a haunted mansion. For Christmas, he makes his family wear synchronized sweaters and uses elaborate decorations. Thanksgiving and Fourth of July are also very loved by him. Every Valentine's, he plans elaborate dates for Claire, where they pretend to be some other person to keep the spark alive in their marriage. In fact, Phil has the art of turning simple family events into major celebrations.
