His relationship with his elder daughter - Haley’s boyfriend is sometimes so awkward that it gets hilarious. He cannot find a balance and sometimes ends up being too strict or too frank. He tries his best to have manly and bossy conversations with them but ends up totally drifting from the topic. He is overly enthusiastic and always welcomes them warmly to his house. In fact, unlike how it should be, he tries to impress her boyfriends than the other way around. Even after Haley breaks up with them, he finds it hard to let go.
