He always encourages Luke's creativity, even if it's questioned by others. He believes that Luke is a mini version of him and shares his silliness. He tries to teach him life lessons in unconventional ways like walking on a tightrope across his backyard to teach him about never giving up. They are more of best friends than father and son.
