19 new movies and TV shows you must stream in February

February is packed with new movies and shows. From Pixar’s first animated series to Robert De Niro’s first foray into serial shows, there is a lot that is happening this month in the world of cinema and TV. While there are a handful of romantic shows and movies to commemorate the season of love, there are media from other genres as well. So, here are 19 new movies and TV shows streaming this month.

1. Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy – February 27

What better way to indulge this February than by watching the beloved early 2000s rom-com that’s making a grand return with its fourth installment? Directed by Michael Morris, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is a highly anticipated sequel that sees Renée Zellweger reprising her iconic role, joined once again by Hugh Grant, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and more. This time, Bridget finds herself caught between the charms of a brilliant professor and the excitement of a romance with someone 20 years her junior.

2. Love to Death – February 5

Starring Joan Amargos and Veronica Echegui, this Spanish comedy-drama is another offering by Apple TV+ that is sure to make one ponder about commitment during this season of love. The story follows Marta, an independent woman who is pregnant and gets a diagnosis of a cardiac tumor. On the other hand, her childhood friend, Raul, also has heart cancer. The two unexpectedly fall for each other as they reflect on love and commitment.

3. Reacher – February 20

Based on the novels by Lee Child and developed by Nick Santora, Reacher is an action crime series that is back for a third season this month on Amazon Prime Video. Starring Alan Ritchson in the titular role, who is a former US military policeman who encounters dangerous criminals, the new season promises to pack new thrills as Reacher helps the DEA rescue an agent.

4. Zero Day – February 20

Created by Eric Newman, this six-episode miniseries is the first TV series project of Robert De Niro and is a political thriller that centers around a global cyberattack. Robert plays a former US President who is forced to come back after a deadly cyberattack paralyzes the country. This one will be released on Netflix and is all about conspiracy theories and deception.

5. The Unbreakable Boy – February 21

Directed by Jon Gunn and based on the book by Scott Michael LeRette and Susy Flory, this biographical drama movie stars Zachary Levi, Meghann Fahy, and others. This one will tug at your heartstrings as this heartfelt movie is about a young boy, Austin, with autism and brittle bone disease. The movie revolves around his father, Scott (Levi), who gives his all to keep his son happy.

6. The White Lotus – February 16

This black comedy drama anthology makes a comeback this month and is highly awaited. Critically and commercially acclaimed for its humor, plot, and performances, this time, the series is set at a Thai resort and will continue to explore the personal lives of its guests and staff. Created by Mark White, this one will premiere on Max.

7. Sweet Magnolias – February 6

Based on the novels by Sherryl Woods and developed by Sheryl J. Anderson, this romantic drama series releases its fourth season this month on Netflix. The cozy show makes for a perfect watch as it revolves around three childhood best friends from South Carolina, who help each other through the hardships of career, family life, and romance.

8. The Gorge – February 14

Directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Miles Teller, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Sigourney Weaver, this sci-fi action horror promises to deliver a different kind of romance as it focuses on two elite snipers, who are on a secret mission. The two of them must guard a deep gorge, without knowing what lies in it. The movie is full of mystery and twists and released on Apple TV+ this month.

9. Paddington in Peru – February 14

After a successful run in the UK, this live-action animated adventure comedy is set to arrive this month in the US. The perfect movie for kids, it is the third installment in the series and is based on the stories by Michael Bond. The film features the voices of Julie Walters, Hugh Bonneville, and others. This time, Paddington returns to Peru and must find his beloved Aunt Lucy, who has gotten lost in the jungles.

10. Newtopia – February 7

Starring Park Jeong-min and Jisoo, this South Korean romantic fantasy series blends romance and horror and revolves around a couple who broke up but must reconnect after a zombie outbreak takes over the city. Directed by Yoon Seong-Hyun, this one is a unique take on love during this season of romance and is a thrilling watch. It will be released on Amazon Prime Video.

11. Running Point – February 27

Created by Elaine Ko, Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, this sports comedy series is for all sports enthusiasts. Starring Kate Hudson, Brenda Song, and others, this one revolves around Hudson’s character, who must lead the Los Angeles Waves basketball team after her brother has to step down due to a scandal. The series is all about cutthroat ambition, internal politics, and hilarious moments.

12. Suits LA – February 24

A highly awaited spin-off of the acclaimed series, Suits, this legal drama created by Aaron Korsh and starring Stephen Amell and Josh McDermitt, revolves around former prosecutor Ted (Amell), who helms a new group of expert LA lawyers who specialize in criminal and entertainment law. The series promises the same sophistication as the original and releases on Peacock.

13. Captain America: Brave New World – February 12

Starring Anthony Mackie in the titular role, along with Harrison Ford, and others, this superhero movie directed by Julius Onah, is the first movie where Mackie takes charge as Sam Wilson/Captain America, after Chris Evans retires. The new installment in the franchise will be the MCU’s first big release of the year and centers around Captain America tackling an international incident.

14. Clean Slate – February 6

Created by Laverne Cox, George Wallace, and Dan Ewen, this light-hearted sitcom stars Cox and Wallace and revolves around Desiree (Cox), who is a proud trans woman and has not seen her father in 23 years. But when she decides to visit her hometown of Alabama, her father, Harry (Wallace), a car wash owner, is in for a surprise as he is expecting a son. The series will be released on Amazon Prime Video.

15. Win or Lose – February 19

Marketed as Pixar’s first original series, this feel-good animated series is in the same realm as Inside Out, as it deals with eight members of a middle school softball team and their respective emotions before a big match. While one has a crush on the referee, the other has overprotective parents. Created by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, each episode focuses on the perspective of a single member and will be released on Disney+

16. La Dolce Villa – February 13

Releasing on Netflix just before the day of love, this romantic comedy has tons of scenic views as it is set against the backdrop of a beautiful Italian villa. Directed by Mark Waters and starring Scott Foley, this movie is about a middle-aged father Eric (Foley), who heads to Italy to stop his daughter from wasting all her money on a villa restoration. But as fate would have it, he finds a second chance at love.

17. Grosse Pointe Garden Society – February 24

Created by Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, this drama series stars Melissa Fumero, Aja Naomi King, and others. The show revolves around a suburban gardening club and four of its members, whose simple lives change when they share a murderous secret. The show blends mystery, crime, and drama, and releases on Peacock.

18. Apple Cider Vinegar – February 6

Starring Kaitlyn Dever, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and others, this Australian drama series is all about the rise of influencer culture and the lies of social media. The show revolves around a wellness guru Belle (Alycia), who along with her friend, uses their popular platform to allegedly cure people. But things take a turn when Belle decides to fool her followers by claiming that she has cancer. The show will be released on Netflix.

19. The Monkey – February 21

Directed by Osgood Perkins and based on a short story by Stephen King, this horror comedy stars Theo James, Elijah Wood, and Sarah Levy. The movie centers around two brothers who find a cursed toy monkey of their father’s during childhood and discard it after a string of deaths happen around them. But when mysterious death resurfaces after many years, the brothers decide to permanently eliminate the toy.
