Armageddon tells the story of Harry Stamper and his mission to save Earth. When a massive asteroid is on a collision course with Earth with only 18 days in hand, NASA recruits a group of hardened deep-sea oil drillers on a mission to destroy the asteroid. Headed by Harry Stamper in this mission their task is to detonate a bomb on it that will split the asteroid in two changing its course away from Earth. The movie is appreciated for its visual effects, action sequences, and nostalgic appeal even though it is scientifically inaccurate.
