Based on a novel by Gary K. Wolf, this fantasy comedy directed by Robert Zemeckis is one of the first movies to combine live-action and animation. It revolves around a private investigator who must help a toon framed for murder. The quirky movie was the most expensive movie at the time with a budget of $70 million but earned $154 million in return.
