Critics weren’t exactly rolling out the red carpet for Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, calling it stretched and absurd. Yet, audiences couldn’t resist Jim Carrey’s slapstick genius and wild antics, making the movie a comedy classic. With a $107 million gross from a modest $15 million budget, it became a box office sensation.
