When Queen Maeve tries to bring down Homelander, he responds in the most chilling way. Antony Starr's acting while Homelander laughs at Maeve's attack is sadistic. He enjoys her desperation as he does not have a drop of sympathy in him and has an ego problem. His acting brings out how Homelander believes that he cannot be defeated and has the right to enjoy the pain of those who challenge him. This moment reinforces Homelander’s terrifying nature, as his sadistic joy in the face of pain makes him a formidable and unpredictable villain.
