In the second episode of the 1st season, when Sam and Dean were still having a hard time working together, they faced the Wendigo. Their situation becomes dire when they come across the campers in the forest who have fallen prey to the Wendigo. Although Sam and Dean can eventually survive and defeat the Wendigo, they have a hard time doing it.
