To maintain order in the games and govern his subordinates, he is extremely stern and brutal and puts to death those who disobey the rules and disrupt the games. His transition from an earlier winner to the overseer illustrates how even the innocent participators of the game get corrupted by the lure of power and control. The Front Man's brutal application of the game's regulations exposes his moral decline.
