Johnny Depp is widely known as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean films, apart from the many quirky and multi-dimensional characters he has played throughout his career. Although he is brilliant in the three films that fetched him Oscar nominations — Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Finding Neverland, and Sweeney Todd — he never took home the trophy. Depp's transformation into some of his eccentric and memorable characters is unmatched.
