15. The Exorcist: Believer (2023) dir. David Gordon Green

Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn), who has been permanently changed by what happened to her daughter 50 years ago, is searched for by the father of one of the two girls who vanish into the forest and come back 3 days later.
The fact that Chris is squandered here as the studio's corny cash grab for sentimental fans may be the biggest blunder of the movie. One of the viewers on BuzzFeed said,
"I walked out. It's awful.”
The screenplay is generally poor, the conversation is awkward, and the film has numerous clichéd group exorcism scenes. The film truly treats its viewers like idiots.
14. The Room (2003) dir. Tommy Wiseau

This confusing storyline transforms into comedy as the film progresses. The entire movie plays out strangely. The acting isn't great, and the story has bizarre plotlines, including countless scenes with spoons.
The movie evolves into an attractive disaster that makes the viewer curious but not in a good way. You laugh, and then you cringe. You question the nature of the film. Why were you not able to look away from the screen? It's a true trainwreck of a masterpiece.
13. Aloha (2015) dir. Cameron Crowe

The film largely received negative reviews, with critics citing a confusing plot, incoherent pacing, and a mishmash of themes that failed to coalesce into a coherent narrative. One of the viewers on BuzzFeed said,
"This movie made ZERO sense and none of the characters are likable, except Jon Krasinski who doesn't say anything.”
According to some critics on IMDb, there was no chemistry between the lead performers, Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper. Moreover, some sequences with Rachel McAdams were just awkward.
Despite fans' continuous aspirations, it never got any more animated. They find it unbelievable that performers agreed to act after reading the screenplay. The production team also ended up adding Bill Murray at the last minute with awful dialogue.
12. Catwoman (2004) dir. Jean-Christophe "Pitof" Comar

Catwoman is a time capsule of frantic filmmaking that left viewers perplexed. As a superhero movie, it is a failure. Imagine a movie where every artistic choice seems to have been created thinking of a separate universe.
The screenplay clumsily teeters between bewilderment and camp, the editing appears allergic to coherence, and the visual effects fall short of even early 2000s norms. Not only is the film flawed, but it also deceives the audience into doubting whether there are any laws at all.
Watching Catwoman is like pushing your brain through an endurance test, with the only prize being the realization that some awful movies have charm.
11. Gigli (2003) dir. Martin Brest

Watching Gigli is like creating an intentional cerebral discomfort. It is neither funny nor exciting. It is just plain boring. The film's crime plot and comedic sequences fall short of succeeding despite the ambition.
Even with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez on screen together, there is no believable chemistry. The acting feels awkward. The story goes nowhere. One of the viewers on IMDb remarked,
“I saw this movie and hated about 99% of it.”
Watching this movie makes you feel something in between exhaustion and confusion. Your mind will question you and demand an answer for your choice of film. .
10. Black Christmas (2019) dir. Sophia Takal

The movie is a poorly executed adaptation of the successful horror film Black Christmas (1974). The 1974 original enduces fear and intrigue. The adaptation, in contrast is unable to either.
The PG-13 rating makes all frightening elements mild and tame. A viewer on BuzzFeed said,
"The most recent remake was utter trash."
Although the script wants the dialogue to be meaningful, it fails to offer anything. The killer is not even scary. The film is uninteresting and as you watch it you will start getting irritated. Just watch the 1974 movie instead.
9. The Thin Red Line (1998) dir. Terrence Malick

Although aesthetically pleasing, this film drags out each sequence at a pace that makes you feel like time may as well be stagnant. The priority is given to nature and voice-overs with very little action. A viewer on BuzzFeed said,
"To this day, it is the only movie I’ve ever walked out of the theatre without finishing.”
Instead of the expected warfare, the film offers the viewer a peaceful and lyrical narrative. It might be confusing and too slow if you go into it anticipating an exciting and energetic battle.
8. Cats (2019) dir. Tom Hooper

This movie's production set out to be a musical but meanders into surrealistic hallucinations. The humanoid cats are strange. Their movements are unsettling. A BuzzFeed review states that:
“Without a doubt. I love the stage show but was always concerned about how it would translate to film, given that there is zero plot.”
The story? The competition becomes the sole means by which these strange creatures attempt to get out of their perpetual limbo. The visuals? The creators made these visuals to invade your slumbering nightmares.
7. Feed (2017) dir. Tommy Bertelsen

As per the storyline, 18-year-old twins, Olivia and Matthew Grey, are raised in a privileged and high-achieving environment. With the passing of one of them, bizarre events unfurl. There are hardly any distinctions between them. An audience member said on BuzzFeed,
"It's the worst movie I've seen in my life. It was gross and the main character was so f___ing annoying I honestly rooted for the killer."
The movie struggles to evoke deep emotions that result in awkward, contrived emotional moments. The plot combines elements of grief and eating disorders, which confuses the audience from the very beginning.
6. The Philadelphia Experiment (2012) dir. Paul Ziller

The production of this film attempts to present a sci-fi narrative featuring subpar visual effects, poor performances, and an uncontrollable storyline. The film transforms an exciting idea into boredom. Nothing makes sense. A BuzzFeed reviewer said,
"It is truly, genuinely the worst movie I have ever seen. I can't even really describe what was so awful about it."
The storyline is completely unoriginal, with predictable punchlines. The plot wanders without purpose through multiple unconvincing storylines that fail to support any reason for making a sequel.
5. Super Troopers 2 (2018) dir. Jay Chandrasekhar

Jay Chandrasekhar directed this American comedy film. The film is a huge disappointment compared to the first part. Especially since the first film was a huge success, the audience was anticipating the sequel. The writing and comedy weren't on par with the first film at all. One of the Super Trooper fans said on IMDb,
"Why wait nearly 2 decades just to make a crowd-funded box of crap?"
In contrast to the original movie, which had a more prank-related humor, Super Troopers 2's comedy leaned more into traditional fart jokes and bawdy humor. According to the fans, the humor in Super Troopers 2 was a dramatic departure from all of the previous Broken Lizard films, such as Beerfest and Club Dread.
4. Jaws: The Revenge (1987) dir. Joseph Sargent

In Jaws: The Revenge, an angry shark serves as the motivation for this movie to present what seems far-fetched. Really? The legendary thriller ends up becoming a tedious and humorous disaster. The shark was too powerful for Michael Caine, who tried to rescue the film from failure.
The Rotten Tomatoes rating for this movie is 2%. The movie offers an impossible plot combined with no tension that leaves viewers questioning whether to even finish watching the film. Our brain expected ocean thrills. Instead, it got seasick. We are sorry, brain. We really, really are.
3. Sex and the City 2 (2010) dir. Michael Patrick King

Michael Patrick King has written, co-produced, and directed this romantic comedy. According to the storyline, Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte accompany Samantha on a vacation to Abu Dhabi. The film failed to capture the attention of the audience. The critic who reviewed the film in The Guardian said,
"I didn't enjoy Sex and the City 2."
According to the critic, the characters were illogical, the set pieces were too long, the direction was careless, the tone was inconsistent, and the screenplay was straightforward and repetitious. Abu Dhabi's scenes felt naive, perplexing, and superficial.
2. Disaster Movie (2008) dir. Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer

The movie avoids the disaster parody format by focusing solely on disaster events. It combines awkward humor with repeated references to outdated pop culture into an uncontrolled, jumbled mess of a narrative. The entire production lacks humor, everything seems nonsensical, and each element appears lackadaisical.
Rotten Tomatoes has rated this movie at 1%. Characters undergo repeated hits and falls, they scream, and the film gets exhausting as one continues to watch.
1. One Night Stand (1997) dir. Mike Figgis

The acting in One Night Stand (1997) is inconsistent, with performances that lack emotional impact and an aimless screenplay. An IMDb user said,
I'm not going to spoil anything, but let me just say that I hated it. The two scenes towards the end sealed my negative vote on this movie."
The dramatization overshadows the script's attempts at depth. The plot veers off course, lacking a strong narrative arc or any deep connections.
Some movies are just hard to watch. From pure intolerance to an attractive disastrous charm, to drowsiness or the worst of it all: boredom – the list of the worst movies above has it all.
Some days, your patience reaches its limits, and other days, the expectation of it all ruins the experience of watching a movie.
