9) Captain Marvel (2019)
Brie Larson flew as Carol Danvers, Marvel's first female-led superhero film, breaking the boundaries of the genre. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck directed the movie about Carol's self-discovery journey and empowerment. Set in the 1990s, the movie's nostalgic elements, such as its blockbuster video store scene, captivated audiences. Larson's tough training paid off in dynamic fight scenes, where Carol showed off her incredible strength. The film also brought Goose, an alien "cat" that steals the scene. Captain Marvel broke box office records and inspired a new generation of fans, proving that women could lead superhero franchises.
