Annalise Keating was the queen of managed sass, able to rule over any room with the cut of her quick-witted words. As a criminal defense attorney and professor, she could deliver blistering blows with a detached air that left her foes shell-shocked. And, as if to make an icon out of herself, one of the most memorable lines delivered was "I don't need your validation." Annalise's sass wasn't about burning people with words-it was about power play, exposing the weak points of others while giving nothing, as long as it was perfectly camouflaged by the mask of cool, calm, collectedness.
