The haunting performance of Jack Nicholson as a homicidal madman, the freaky hallways of a hotel with a dark, dark past, and the unnerving scene of the bloody elevator, it all to the horrors and terrors embedded in the movie. You will never know for sure what's coming next. The Shining remains one of the spookiest films Hollywood has seen, blurring the lines between real life and insanity.
