Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Hollywood debut was in The Mummy Returns (2001) as the Scorpion King. Although he was on screen for only a few minutes, it was enough to get a spin-off film, The Scorpion King (2002). For his cameo in The Mummy Returns, he was reportedly paid $5.5 million; this is reportedly the largest paycheck for an actor in his first major film appearance. His short appearance helped catapult him into stardom, and he never looked back after that.
