Rorschach’s death in Watchmen was one of the most shocking scenes in the film. He refused to keep silent on Ozymandias’ plan to sacrifice millions to create world peace. He stood in the snow and dared Dr. Manhattan to kill him rather than accept the lie. Manhattan vaporized him without hesitation and left nothing behind, but blood and broken pieces of his mask. Rorschach’s death hit hard because he had stayed true to his beliefs until the very end and refused to compromise even when it meant he would die. His demise highlighted the moral conflict at the heart of the story and left audiences questioning whether the truth was worth the cost.
