Hope says goodbye to Bo

Hope says goodbye to Bo

While passing through the town square, Chad remembered some conversations he'd had with Abigail during his time on the run. Chad also recalled a few more of the many punches he and Ben had thrown during their fight, but he remained unable to remember what they had been fighting about.

Chad tried to call J.J. to see if he had actually talked to Abigail lately, but the call went to voicemail. After leaving a message, Chad ended the call and went to the police station, where a cop informed him that Rafe was in the field. Grabbing the cop's arm, Chad demanded to know if Rafe was looking for Abigail. The cop had no idea what Rafe was doing, but he warned that Chad needed to calm down to avoid being sent back to jail.

At the cabin, Wendy warned Ben that the baby needed a pediatrician, not a midwife. Abigail tried to convince Ben to take her to a hospital, but he knew she would turn him in to the police if he did that. "The baby's gonna be born right here in this room, so get with the program!" Ben shouted at Abigail and Wendy before turning away from them to look out a window while catching his breath.

Wendy silently directed Abigail's attention to a cell phone that was sticking out of the back pocket of a pair of jeans on the bed. Abigail grabbed the device, and Wendy kept Ben distracted with small chores to give Abigail time to use it. Abigail started to compose a text message for Chad but suffered another painful contraction before she could finish it.

Abigail gripped the armrests of her chair as she cried out in pain, and when Ben turned to check on her, he saw the cell phone sticking out under her left hand. Ben pried the device out of Abigail's hand and stomped on it after angrily observing that she had been trying to send a text message to Chad, of all people. "You really shouldn't have done that," Ben said as he glared at Abigail.

Abigail said she had simply been trying to get help, but Ben argued that she could have instead contacted Jennifer or J.J. -- or simply dialed 9-1-1 -- if she had really just wanted help. "You're still playing me! You just want to get away from me so you can run back to him!" Ben concluded. Abigail cried out in pain again as Ben angrily ordered her to answer him.

Wendy explained that Abigail couldn't answer Ben because she was in transitional labor. Ben demanded to know what that meant. "You wanted to have the baby born here? Well, you're gonna get your wish. [And] God help this poor little thing," Wendy replied. Sobbing, Abigail begged Ben to take her home so she could have her mother's support as well as proper medical care for the baby. "You're not going anywhere. You brought this upon yourself," Ben said, glaring at Abigail without a hint of sympathy as she continued to cry out in pain.

John went to the DiMera mansion and showed Andre a flash drive. "You have what I want; I have what you want. You want to make a little deal?" John wondered. Feigning ignorance, Andre asked John to be more specific. "You have Sami; I have all of Stefano's bank accounts. So either we make a deal, or I make a whopping transfer. Your choice, pal," John elaborated.

Scoffing, Andre insisted that he wasn't in the habit of making deals with losers the ISA had pensioned off. Ignoring the remark, John pointed out that he and Andre were living in a time in which, thanks to the convenience of Internet banking, transactions could be made at any hour. Andre wasn't concerned, explaining that any bank transactions that weren't made via the mansion's main computer were subjected to a series of security checks. "You found out the hard way, didn't you?" John guessed.

John suspected that Andre had resurrected himself and returned to Salem to take Stefano down but needed the flash drive in order to do so. Andre claimed that he had only returned to Salem because he had found out that Stefano was his father, adding that his love for and loyalty toward Stefano was without question. "Guess I'm talking to the wrong guy," John mused with a shrug before starting to call out for Harold, prompting Andre to protest that they could surely resolve the matter on their own without needing to wake up Stefano. "Now we're talking," John impatiently replied.

"You know, I'm just dying to give you this...if you use it to steal every penny Stefano has, and then you head for the hills," John added. Andre said he was sure that could be arranged, and, in exchange, he promised to make sure Sami was safe and sound in Marlena's arms soon enough. Satisfied, John handed over the flash drive, but as Andre wrapped his fingers around it, John revealed that it was a blank device -- and that the real one was safely hidden elsewhere. John said he would return with it later, at which point Andre would need to be prepared to take him to Sami. "That's fine," Andre agreed. "Nice doing business with you," John replied.

After John left, Andre grabbed his cell phone and started to make a call. "So...I hear you're going into business with John Black," Stefano observed as he entered the study. Surprised to see that Stefano was still awake, Andre claimed that he had kept certain things from Stefano out of concern.

"I just didn't want to add to the stress that you were already under [due to] Chad being accused of multiple murders and your favorite son, Elvis, [having set] a plan in motion to ruin you. [That's] going beyond what you're used to dealing with -- especially now, when you have not been well," Andre explained. Stefano was quite skeptical, but Andre assured him that all his problems would be solved before the end of the day.

Later, John returned with Marlena, and Andre led them both to the place where Sami was being held. Andre was surprised to find that the cell was empty -- except for an unconscious guard. Concerned, Marlena demanded to know what Andre had done to Sami. Meanwhile, back at the DiMera mansion, Stefano pressed a few keys while staring at the screen of his laptop. "Samantha, you bitch!" Stefano growled as he shook his head in disbelief.

At the hospital, a nurse handed Steve an envelope that had been left for him at the nurses' station. Sighing, Steve opened the envelope and read the enclosed note -- "Just when you think maybe you've figured it out..." -- prompting Kayla to wonder what it meant. "He's just playing with us," Steve guessed. Steve promised to kill the guy if he went near Joey again, but that didn't exactly make Kayla feel better.

Shawn and Roman helped Caroline clean up the pub, and after they finished the task, Caroline and Roman not-so-subtly hinted that it would be great if Shawn moved back to Salem for good. Shawn said he and Belle had discussed the matter more than once, but he wasn't willing to make any promises. As Caroline declared that having Shawn, Belle, and Claire back in Salem permanently would be "absolute heaven," she had another vision in which Hope was sobbing in the park while cradling Bo in her arms. Roman and Shawn suspected that something was bothering Caroline, but she dismissed their concerns, claiming that she was simply tired.

At Bo and Hope's house, Ciara found Chase sitting in the living room, holding a box of matches in one hand and a lit match in the other. Chase tossed the lit match onto the bloodstained rug, where it snuffed out next to a pile of other used matches. Ciara wondered if Chase was trying to burn the place down. "No. I was hoping to burn away the stain of what my dad did. So far, it's not working," Chase muttered as he stared at the stain.

Ciara asked Chase to give her the box of matches. Ignoring the request, Chase guessed Ciara hated him just as much as she hated his father. Ciara assured Chase that she didn't hate him but added that he was scaring her. Chase recalled that his mom had often said the same thing about his father. "When she was drunk, she'd tell me that nobody knew the real him," Chase added. Chase explained that his father had always blamed his mother's rantings on the alcohol. Chase admitted that, since his mother had often been drunk, he had believed everything his father had ever told him about her.

"You know what the crazy part is? I actually miss him," Chase added. Ciara didn't think that was crazy at all, since Aiden had never done anything bad to Chase, and she was sure Aiden had loved Chase. Sighing, Chase complained that he felt extremely confused, and nothing made sense to him anymore. "I just wish someone had told me that life was just a screwed-up mess, and then you die. That would have been easier to take than this," Chase added. Ciara reasoned that burning the house down wasn't going to make life any less of a screwed-up mess. Conceding the point, Chase handed over the box of matches.

Ciara encouraged Chase to continue talking to her about what was bothering him, pointing out that experts always said that it was bad to keep stuff bottled up inside. Chase didn't think he would be able to properly articulate his feelings, even if he tried, because he didn't even really know how he felt. Chase acknowledged that he probably should know, since he had already gone through the experience of losing a parent once before, but he added that losing his mother had been completely different because she hadn't hurt anyone except herself.

"No matter what I say, you're not gonna get it; you still have your mom and dad. All I know is, I thought your mom...and my dad...and you, me, and Shawn...were gonna be like this sitcom-happy family, and... And now that's all gone, and I don't even know why," Chase explained. Sighing, Chase wondered what had happened to his father, and Ciara shrugged as she admitted that she didn't know.

"Well, I need to know," Chase stressed. Chase added that his mother had supposedly shot herself during his childhood, but when he had looked up the incident online years later, he had learned that there had been rumors going around back then about how his father had actually killed her. "He was never charged with anything...but now... I mean...he tried to kill your mom. Does that mean he killed mine?" Chase wondered.

Shrugging again, Ciara said she didn't know the answer to that question -- but she didn't think Chase would find it in the bloodstained rug, either. Sick of being in the house, Ciara suggested that she and Chase could go for a walk, and he agreed.

In the park, Hope gently lowered Bo to the ground and tucked her jacket under his head, tearfully begging him not to leave her. When Bo didn't respond, Hope went to the nearby flowerbed and ripped out the tree they had planted earlier. Hope considered tearing at the tree's roots but instead dropped it and returned to Bo's side, giving him a kiss as she stretched out next to him and wrapped her arms around his chest.

Reluctantly, Hope reached for her cell phone and contacted Kayla. Unable to verbalize what had just happened, Hope just sobbed for a few seconds before dropping the device. Hope crawled back over to the flowerbed and put the tree back in the soil then returned to Bo's side, rested her head on his chest, grabbed one of his hands, and intertwined her fingers with his.

When Steve and Kayla arrived, Hope sadly informed them that it was too late to save Bo. Steve said an ambulance was on the way, and he offered to take Hope elsewhere so she wouldn't have to watch the paramedics take Bo's body away, but she insisted that she wasn't going to leave Bo. Hope guessed Kayla and Steve had known about Bo's brain tumor, and they confirmed that they had found out earlier that day. Hope hugged Bo tightly, tearfully wondering why he hadn't told her sooner. "Is this my punishment for giving up on him? Is this my punishment, Brady? I didn't want to give up on you. I didn't want to give up on you. I'm sorry," Hope sobbed.

When the paramedics arrived, Kayla and Steve gently dragged Hope away from Bo. Hope continued to sob in Kayla's arms as Steve knelt beside Bo and kissed his forehead. After Steve stepped away, the paramedics went to work, and Hope, Kayla, and Steve watched as they draped a sheet over Bo's body and wheeled him away on a stretcher.

Steve and Kayla went to the Brady Pub to tell Caroline about what had happened. Kayla was relieved to see that Caroline was with Roman and Shawn, knowing they would be able to provide additional support. Steve offered to help Kayla break the news to Caroline, Roman, and Shawn, but she insisted on handling the task on her own. Nodding, Steve said he was going to go inform someone else who needed to be told the news right away.

Hope returned home and called out for Ciara. When she didn't get a response, Hope sank to the floor in the darkened living room, sobbing as she clutched Bo's leather jacket in her arms. Meanwhile, Steve went to the Kiriakis mansion and took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell. "It's Bo," Steve gravely stated when Victor answered the door.

In the DiMera dungeon, Andre escorted Marlena and John to Sami's cell, but he was shocked to find Sami was gone. As Andre yelled at the unconscious henchman on the floor, John hit Andre over the head, knocking him to the ground. John grabbed the flash drive from Tony's hand then ran out with Marlena behind him.

Andre went upstairs to talk to Stefano. Stefano showed Andre on the computer that all of their assets were gone. Shaking his head, Andre said that Sami could not have taken all the assets with just the passcode because she needed to use a computer in the mansion. When Andre noted that Sami had been locked up, Stefano reminded Andre that Sami had escaped. Andre promised to fix the matter. Pointing out the bright side, Andre noted that Sami had only stolen the liquid assets but none of the company holdings. Stefano growled that Sami would regret her actions.

Chad crept in through the window of Ben and Abigail's apartment. Holding a flashlight, Chad looked around the darkened apartment for clues to Abigail's disappearance. As Chad searched the room, he remembered that the reason he and Ben had fought was because Chad had accused Ben of being the Necktie Killer. Terrified by the realization that Ben was the killer, Chad rushed out of the apartment.

At the police station, Chad told Rafe that he had recovered some of his memories. Chad said that when he had fought Ben, it had been over his accusation that Ben was the killer. When Rafe asked Chad if Ben had admitted to being the killer, Chad said that he could not remember what Ben had said. Frustrated, Rafe told Chad that he needed more information. Chad swore that his theory about Ben was the truth.

"What motive does Aiden have for killing all those people?" Chad asked. Rafe suggested that the murders were a distraction so that Aiden could kill Hope for her money. Chad countered that Aiden had copied the Necktie Killer so that he could throw off suspicion for Hope's death. When Chad pushed Rafe to check his gut, Rafe admitted that it was unlikely that Aiden had killed three people as a misdirect.

Rafe argued that even if Ben was the killer, Chad only had half a memory and could not act as a witness. When Rafe asked Chad what he wanted, Chad yelled that he needed Rafe to find Ben. Chad said he was sure that Ben was the killer. "Do whatever you can to help Abigail before it is too late!" Chad yelled.

After taking a moment to calm down, Chad reminded Rafe that Ben had anger issues. Chad added that when Ben grew angry, he had frequently crossed the line into unwarranted violence in the past. "What does your gut say about Ben?" Chad asked. With a nod, Rafe grabbed the phone and ordered an APB for Ben.

In the cabin, Abigail screamed. The midwife, Wendy, coached Abigail through labor. When the baby was born, it cried. "We have a son!" an emotional Ben said as he kissed Abigail's head. Wendy wrapped the boy up in a blanket and handed him to Abigail. As a moony-eyed Abigail cooed over her new son, Ben bluntly ordered Abigail to hand him the baby. Abigail reluctantly let go of her son. When Abigail pleaded to hold her son again, Ben told her to wait.

Wendy asked Ben to hand her the baby so that she could check the boy's lungs. When Wendy reiterated that the baby needed to be checked at a hospital, Ben refused. Ben told Wendy that her job was done. Abigail asked Ben to let Wendy go. "She knows we're here. She knows too much," Ben said. Abigail gently reminded Ben that Wendy had helped their son. Ben said he was grateful for Wendy's assistance.

"I have to protect him," Ben said. Ben handed the baby back to Abigail then he took the gun out of his pocket. As Ben led Wendy out of the cabin, Wendy pleaded for her life. Abigail rocked her son in an attempt to stop his crying. Outside, a gunshot rang out. Ben returned to the cabin. In disbelief, Abigail asked Ben why. Ben said he would do anything to protect their son. Ben grabbed the handcuff and cuffed Abigail to the bed. As Abigail cowered, Ben took her son away.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Steve informed Victor and Maggie that Bo had died. Victor was in denial. Steve told Victor and Maggie about the tests that Kayla had performed that had shown that there had been a brain tumor in Bo's head. As Maggie wept, Steve apologized then slipped out of the house. Victor and Maggie sat in the living room and talked about Bo. Victor noted that at the welcome home party, Bo had seemed to act more like someone saying goodbye rather than someone rejoicing at returning home to his family. Maggie admitted that she had heard sadness in Bo's voice.

"Damn it, Maggie. Why didn't he tell me?" Victor asked. "He probably wanted his last moments around his family to be happy ones," Maggie suggested. Victor fretted that he could have helped Bo, but Maggie assured Victor that Bo would have asked for help if anything could have been done. Victor swore to find the people that had kidnapped Bo. Shaking her head no, Maggie said that Bo would want Victor to take care of himself and all the people he had loved. Nodding, Victor said he had promised Bo that he would take care of Caroline.

In the Brady Pub, Kayla told Caroline, Roman, and Shawn that Bo had died from a brain tumor. Shawn noted that Bo had said that he was fine. Kayla said Bo had lied because he had not wanted anyone to know that the tumor had been inoperable. Shaking his head, Shawn sat down next to Caroline. Angry, Roman blamed the men that had kidnapped and tortured Bo. Kayla explained that the tumor had been growing for a long time prior to Bo's disappearance.

When Kayla mentioned that Bo had died in Hope's arms, a worried Shawn asked about his mother. Kayla said that Jennifer was checking on Hope. As Shawn asked about Ciara, she entered the pub and asked what was going on. Shawn escorted his sister outside, and Roman and Kayla wondered how Ciara would take the news. Kayla thanked God that Bo had been able to talk to Ciara before he had died.

Outside, Ciara cried out and Shawn hugged her tightly. After Ciara calmed, she and Shawn entered the pub and hugged their family. Worried, Ciara wanted to check on her mom, and Shawn wanted to join her. Roman asked Ciara and Shawn to tell Hope that her family was there to support her. After hugging their family, Ciara and Shawn left to find Hope.

Jennifer arrived at Hope's house, and she called out for her cousin. Upstairs, an overwhelmed Hope sat on the bed and stared at the wall. Jennifer knocked on the bedroom door, but she found it locked when she turned the handle. Jennifer pleaded with Hope to talk to her so that she knew Hope was okay. Hope cried out to Jennifer to leave her alone. Jennifer said she needed to hug Hope because she was worried about her. Hope sat quietly on the bed.

"Please let me help you. Let your family help you," Jennifer pleaded. "I'm fine! I can handle this on my own! Please go away," Hope responded as she clutched Bo's leather jacket to her chest. Hope muttered, "I just got you back and then I lost you all over again. It's not fair."

Bo's voice asked Hope note to cry. Startled, Hope turned her head and saw a vision of Bo standing in the corner of the room. Bo said he was not alive. Hope chastised herself for not searching for Bo earlier and getting him the treatment he needed. When Hope said she could not forgive herself, Bo gently took her hand in his. Bo said, "You can make things right. Believe in me. All that I stood for. All that was important to me."

Bo reminded Hope that the men that had kidnapped him were out there. When Hope asked Bo what she should do, he told her that she knew. The vision of Bo then faded away as Hope called out to him to stay.

Downstairs, Ciara and Shawn arrived home. Jennifer explained that Hope had locked herself in her bedroom. Shawn suggested that they give Hope time, but Ciara resisted because she wanted to see her mother. Jennifer hugged Ciara and calmed her down. Jennifer urged Ciara and Shawn to call her if they needed anything. With a nod, Jennifer left for the pub. Shawn told Ciara that they would help their mother by staying strong.

In the park, Steve drank liquor alone. Kayla called his phone, but he did not answer it. Instead, Steve played his harmonica. Steve's phone beeped with at text. The message read, "Sorry to see you in so much pain." Angry, Steve demanded that the person show themselves. When no one answered, Steve collapsed back on the bench and drank some more. As Steve stumbled around drunk, Hope entered the park and asked him for help. Hope said she wanted to pursue the men that had kidnapped Bo.

At the penthouse, a teary-eyed Marlena and John hugged after learning about Bo's death. Sami texted Marlena to tell her that she was safe. Sami then texted, "I won." Marlena texted Sami the news about Bo, and Sami texted that she would be in touch. Worried, Marlena asked John what they should do next. John cautioned Marlena to have faith in Sami. Shaking her head, Marlena said she was not sure that Sami understood the ramifications of robbing Stefano.

Marlena fretted over the fact that Sami was a fugitive. With a nod, John said that there would be a host of felony charges pending against Sami. Marlena was unsure whether Stefano would press charges because it would embarrass the DiMera family. John countered that if Stefano did not pursue charges, the only alternative was to hurt Sami physically.

At the pub, Jennifer told Caroline, Roman, and Kayla about her interaction with Hope. Fighting tears, Jennifer said she understand because she had gone through the same thing when Jack had died. Victor and Maggie arrived. When Caroline saw Victor, she broke down sobbing. Victor hugged Caroline. Once Caroline calmed down, Victor informed the group that he had spoken to Chelsea and told her the news. When Kayla asked Maggie about Steve, Maggie said Steve had disappeared. As talk turned to the funeral arrangements, Ciara and Shawn walked into the pub. Victor marched over to Ciara and hugged her and then Shawn.

Salem celebrates a mournful Thanksgiving

Salem celebrates a mournful Thanksgiving

Wednesday, November 25, 2015

John and Marlena welcomed Brady and Paul to the townhouse and wished them a happy Thanksgiving. When John asked, Brady admitted that he didn't know where Theresa and the baby were, even though he'd attempted to get in touch with Theresa.

Surprised that John had given up the search for his family, Paul said he'd been in contact with the ballplayer who'd gone to John's former school -- whose father had been there around the same time as John. "His name is Eduardo Hernandez, and it turns out he just moved to Salem," Paul said.

After dinner, Brady left to join the rest of his family at Victor's. Paul filled John and Marlena in on Eduardo, who had left a couple of families but had shown up in Salem because Paige Larson had been his daughter, and Rafe Hernandez was Eduardo's son by another wife.

Noting that Salem had lost too many people, John raised his glass to toast Bo and Will. Marlena and Paul somberly clinked their glasses with John's.

At the police station, Rafe looked up happily, expecting to see Gabi and Arianna, but instead saw Eduardo. Before Eduardo could say much other than to ask if the Hernandez family had Thanksgiving plans, Gabi arrived with Arianna. Gabi admitted that she and Rafe planned to serve Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless. Eduardo offered to join them, and Gabi accepted despite Rafe's misgivings.

In Horton Square, after donning aprons, Rafe, Gabi, and Eduardo joined other volunteers making plates of food for the less fortunate. Eduardo admitted that he'd done similar work in places like Central America. Rafe irritably said it was not time to play catch-up with his and Gabi's wayward father. Eduardo tried to insist that although he couldn't change the past, he had changed, but Rafe didn't want to hear it. After thanking Gabi for spending part of her day with him, Eduardo said goodbye to Arianna and left.

Once they had served most of the people who'd shown up for dinner, Gabi handed Arianna to Rafe. Gabi remarked to Rafe that perhaps their father deserved a second chance -- just as she had gotten one. Rafe hedged, so Gabi pointed out, "Rafe, we're grownups, okay? He cannot hurt us anymore. But he's the only father we've ever had." She added that they could just tell Eduardo to go away if things didn't work out. While Arianna playfully poked a finger at his face, Rafe admitted that he wasn't sure about it, but Gabi was free to do what she had to do. "Okay, that's progress," Gabi said happily.

While his guests -- Daniel, Nicole, and Fynn -- waited in the Kiriakis living room, a scowling Victor paced in the foyer. Maggie tried to get her husband to join the others, but Victor maintained that he wasn't fit company, and Maggie should go in without him. After Maggie reluctantly complied, Victor muttered, "I feel anything but thankful today."

When Justin arrived with Eve, Victor started in on Eve's former life as a prostitute. Justin sent his date into the living room, as Victor continued ranting about Eve's past -- which the other guests could overhear. Eve returned to the foyer and suggested that she leave while Justin stayed there with his family. "No. I've lost my appetite. Let's go. Happy Thanksgiving, Uncle Vic," Justin said curtly before departing with Eve.

Brady showed up at the mansion just in time for dessert. He asked where Theresa and Tate were, but no one had seen them. "I told her the table was full," Victor said. Brady blew up at his grandfather, who continued to denigrate Theresa. Victor saw the looks on the faces of everyone around him, and he conceded, "I'm an ass." The others understood why Victor was cranky, but he admitted, "Maybe I should try and honor my son rather than embarrass his memory -- to say nothing of the family who's still living here and deserve better." He apologized to everyone in the room.

Addressing the group, Victor declared, "Bo Brady was a better man in his short life than I could ever manage to be. He was unique, what every father hopes for a son." The others raised their glasses in honor of Bo. Later, Victor reminisced about the "tree castle" that Bo had built for Ciara. "You got to know him, Victor. That's a blessing," Maggie softly pointed out. Victor concurred but noted that the time had been too short.

When Justin and Eve arrived at her apartment, Eve found a note under her door from Theresa. Eve tried to call her sister but got her voicemail. Eve apologized to Justin that all they had were turkey sandwiches, but Justin maintained that turkey sandwiches were his favorite part of the holiday. Eve started to explain what Victor had meant, but Justin insisted that he didn't need an explanation. Touched, Eve wrapped her arms around Justin and kissed him.

While Eve and Justin were kissing, Eduardo showed up to talk to Eve. Claiming that he had something to take care of at the police station, Justin headed out to give the exes some privacy. Eduardo explained that he wanted to honor Paige's memory by establishing a music program for low-income kids at the community center in Paige's name, and he wanted Eve to run it. Eve maintained that it was too little, too late. On his way out, Eduardo said he wouldn't proceed until he had Eve's approval.

Justin showed up in the square and informed Rafe that there had been a break in a case they'd both been working. Rafe pulled Justin aside and related what Chad had said earlier. Rafe added that after considering what Ben had said when Rafe had interviewed him, Rafe agreed with what Chad had alleged. Noting that he'd "probably" been wrong not to trust Rafe's instincts before, Justin encouraged Rafe to look into it.

Justin returned to Eve's after Eduardo had left. Eve admitted that she didn't really want to talk about what Eduardo had wanted. Instead of eating turkey sandwiches, Justin and Eve began kissing again.

A hung-over Steve awakened in his hotel room, another empty bottle still in his hand, to the buzzing of his phone. Steve hauled himself off the bed and read the series of anonymous messages, which read, "Rough night? Bet this morning is even rougher. Hair of the dog? Get a head start on tomorrow's hangover."

At the Brady house, Hope was dressed and ready before Ciara. While Hope checked her reflection in a mirror downstairs, a vision of Bo appeared behind her. "Give me something to be thankful for today... I love you," ghost Bo said. Hope asked Bo not to tell her that until she'd atoned for giving up on him. Ciara descended the stairs and said Chase was waiting in the car. While Ciara went outside, Hope called Steve. Assuming that it was his mystery stalker, Steve chewed the person out and hung up. Hope called back right away and told Steve to wait right where he was.

Steve was guzzling water when Hope showed up. She announced that she was going after the people who'd locked Bo up and had been responsible for Bo's death, and she needed Steve's help. Steve thought it was a mistake, but Hope insisted that it was justice, not revenge. Steve suggested they go later, when they were both more clear-headed -- but first, they needed to take care of business at home.

The Brady clan, plus a handful of Hortons including Jennifer, J.J., and Julie, gathered at the Brady Pub to celebrate Thanksgiving. Caroline busied herself with putting glassware away behind the bar until Shawn insisted she join the others. Ciara and Chase arrived without Hope, who had dropped off the kids and left.

As Hope and Steve arrived at the pub, an upset Hope paused outside before entering. Steve gently talked her into going inside -- for Bo and for her kids. Hope dried her tears and went inside with Steve. A thankful Ciara, Kayla, and Shawn embraced and welcomed Hope. Hope noticed Chase sitting by himself at a table and urged Ciara not to leave him alone. While Hope was talking privately to Shawn, Belle and Claire arrived. Everyone greeted them with warm embraces. "You came," Shawn noted quietly to Belle. "Of course, I did," Belle replied, embracing her husband.

After Belle and Claire hugged everyone, Belle put her arms around Hope in sympathy. Caroline announced that dinner was served, so everyone gathered around the table. Caroline noted that there was an empty chair where Bo would have been, explaining that they all felt the big hole Bo had left -- but he had also left them many gifts to treasure. Raising her glass, her voice quavering, Caroline toasted, "To my son, who was larger than life. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand." She lifted her glass high and declared, "To Bo Brady." Everyone assembled echoed her words and gesture before taking a drink from their glasses.

Jennifer helped Hope sit down then Hope tenderly pulled Bo's empty plate and chair closer to herself. After dinner, Ciara introduced Chase as her stepbrother to Claire. Privately, Kayla suggested that Hope take Ciara out of town on a vacation so they could both heal. Hope quietly confronted Steve: "You told Kayla what we talked about, didn't you? She won't be able to stop me any more than you will."

Hope cautioned Steve not to stand in her way, even if he tried to make things harder for her. "All right. I get it. I can't be a part of if, but you do what you've got to do," Steve said. "I will," Hope agreed. In the doorway, ghost Bo smiled at Hope and gave her a small, proud nod.

Marlena answered the door when Belle showed up at the townhouse. A thrilled Marlena could barely speak as she welcomed her daughter with a big hug. When John realized what was going on, he jumped up to embrace his daughter. John and Marlena asked about Shawn. Belle replied, "It's over. Shawn and I are getting a divorce."
